Probably. This is the original iso, only one file differs, an updated "install.esd" file.

Quote from: humbert on October 04, 2024, 06:22 AMPlease don't load it up with unwanted programs that I have to spend time getting rid of.
As usual, there are a few programs embedded in this version indeed. They are practically all needed. A game chess for example, which was already available in the previous versions, or Naps2, a scanning application.

I don't know if it's ready to go, but before you upload it please open the ISO and see if there's a setup.exe in there. What usually works is mounting the drive and double clicking setup.exe. If that file doesn't exist I see no other way to attempt an upgrade other than burning to a flashdrive and booting from it.

Note that new Nvidia drivers are available here:

A new version of windows 11 will be available tomorrow with the same link.
Actually, it's ready, but I'm waiting for the new updates that will be released tomorrow.
To humbert: there is a setup.exe...

OK thanks. I'll be on the lookout for it. Hopefully it'll install. Often these operating systems have a mind of their own.

Note that the release of the windows 11 24H2 edition is delayed until further notice.
I'm not able to remove edge in this version. What's more, I'm waiting for an update for explorer patcher.

There is a powershell script on Github that will completely get rid of Edge. We could just use that do do the job.

scarface if you're working on offline image you can use these hidden commands through dism:
DISM commands, only for offline image
/Remove-Edge - Removes All Edge from image.
/Remove-EdgeBrowser - Removes Edge Browser from image.
/Remove-EdgeWebView - Removes Edge WebView from image.
Abbodi shared the cmds used above in ntlite forums https://www.ntlite.com/community/index.php?threads/windows-11-23h2-getting-huge-edge-webview2.4036/#post-39791
It frees up around 2GB. I've removed Edge in 24h2 and replaced with Firefox.

@humbert @scarface There are upgrade blocks due to my SN740 HMB drive and other drivers did not receive compatible with 24H2 status on Lenovo Thinkpads. So I haven't tested the manual setup.exe but if you want to play around the 24H2 ISO with Edge browser obliterated and replaced with Firefox you can go ahead. Edge browser is getting too bloated than stock google chrome and has been sucking more RAM even with 32GB upgrade when paired with Webview apps from Teams and Zoom. Windows 11 has too much dependency with WebView runtimes so kept it. I think in my updated ISOs on Windows 10 I'll remove Edge entirely and on Win 11 only remove Edge Browser. Makes the ISO smaller by 2GB and brings it down to DVD size instead of being 4.8-5.1GB with ESD.

Firstly there is non-removable 8.63GB windows update cache and it creates windows.old folder even on clean install in Hyper-V VM on both Home and Pro editions when you try removing update cache. Unless you want to try the new minimal Setup/Installer UI stay with 23H2. Not hearing great things post upgrade. Hold off unless you're on modern Intel Arrow Lake or AMD strix point CPUs or SoCs 23H2 is much more stable.

How exactly do you issue those DISM commands? Is this done using Powershell? Does the Windows ISO have to be in the same folder or what.

When I updated using Vasudev's 23H2, it installed and Windows Update was fixed. Unfortunately there were some problems. Windows Explorer came up but it wouldn't let you see any drives. When I temporarily lost connection to a mapped network drive, I could not bring it back up. Also, the command line box wouldn't come up until about 5 minutes later. Thinking the problem was the ISO, I restored the old copy and tried to update using a copy of 24H2 I found online. The update installed but the problems came back. It's NOT Vasudev's copy - something somewhere is wrong with my system.

What happens if you don't use Edge and remove Webview? Do you really need it or can you safely trash it?

I think OOSP 10 and other utilities except WinaeroTweaker are causing graphical and other glitches. If you're using Firewall blocking rules to restrict MSFT spying it is simply causing more issues with 23H2 and later version. I had to rollback or remove them which were working fine with Windows 11 22H2.
I used Dism /Image:"ISO_file\sources\install.wim" index: (1 or 2 depending on editions) /Remove-EdgeBrowser.
Webview is integrated deep into Windows 11 and causing blank apps/entries in Settings app and File Explorer. Edge browser has become more bloated than Chrome 130 so I removed it. Freed up 2GB from ISO from all editions and on Host OS.
